Slipping & Sliding

Updated: Jan 22

There is nothing like a hearty laugh at yourself especially when you need it. After days of being sick in bed, I started to feel much better and decided to get some fresh air. Believe it or not, my dog always, always have a way to make me giggle even when I am not in the mood. But this day was spot on. He was jumping around in the snow, pulling me faster than I wanted to go, yet I took his lead and played too.

I saw a shiny, maybe 4-foot-long patch of snow that looked pretty inviting, OH well here goes!!

Gee whiz, that was fun. I slid several more times. We had a blast. Observing the snow fall onto the tree branches, covering the ground was really serene and brought back wonderful childhood memories. Thanks to my dog Max, I recalled some of the things that actually made my heart smile.

As adults, we get extremely consumed with adulthood that we fail to feed our inner child. We forget how to laugh; we forget how to do the things that once kept us alive and youthful.

Don't get me wrong, there is a time and a place for everything, but we can't be so stuffy, that we fail to be who we are because of age and life's standards.

Everything has an expiration date, why squander valuable time just living, when we can live fully alive.
